Editorial Reviews:

On The Life and Times of S. Carter, Jay-Z's century-closing guaranteed-platinum album, he compares his hit-making prowess to that of Michael Jackson--the unspoken difference being that Jigga appears to be far from wearing out his commercial welcome. For good reason, too; not only is the Roc-A-Fella king maker one prolific rapper and writer, his output is of high enough quality to keep heads ringin'. While there's no single classic on the order of "Hard Knock Life" here, collaborations with Dr. Dre (the truly defiant "Watch Me"), Juvenile ("Snoopy Track"), and UGK ("Big Pimpin'") argue well for Jay-Z's continued vitality. Further proof may lie in the fact that, faced with mass bootlegging weeks before the CD's release, the Z-man added several tracks, effectively revising it at the last minute. --Rickey Wright

I was listening to Beanie Sigel, The Truth, his new album and I found out that ANYTHINg is song #14 on Beanie Mac's new album. that is really disapointing to all of us who bought Jay-Z's new album for the song ANYTHING, unless you like beanie sigel.

What can you say about the Unoffical king of New York...except he is HOT! I anxiously awaited his latest release and it did not disappoint. "So Ghetto", is perhaps the best Jay-Z song I've heard. The beat keeps you going and his lyrics surpass anyone in the rapp game right now. Jay doesn't overload you with voilence, obscenities, or the hard-core style. His third album brings intricant lyrics and in-depth looks into the "life and times" of the hip-hop society. Like he says in "Dope Man", he is trying to be the ghetto spokesman and he is doing a great time. His album does lack in dance beats, but if your a true fan of hip-hop and lyricists you'll be sure to enjoy Volume III.

Excellant album, one of my favourites at the moment. If you don't like "Do it again" there has to be something wrong with you.I don't thing there isn't a song on the album that isn't good. Jay-z keep up the good work. Can't wait for Vol.4!

I am not that big of a rap fan but I decided to listen to one of my friends Cd of Jay Z.I would have to say that this man is one of the best rappers out there not only was his voice clear but the lyrics were very intelligent I also enjoyed the clever sample on the track Anything, although I dont quite remember where it was from

The "Jigga Man" is back and better than ever.Jay-z's "tight" lyrics are ever so present on tracks like "Do it again(put ya hands up)","There's been a murder",and "Big Pimpin"(with UGK).For those of you who bought Vol.2 and liked it I recommend you buy Vol.3.It's got the Jay-Z "flava" you have grown to like and "fresh" new music to keep you blasting it in your car for years to come(or at least until Vol.4 comes out).
